6th Annual Earth Day Clean up of Choate Park Saturday April 17th from 9 to 1pm – Rain or Shine.
Join the Friends of Choate Park (FOCP) for their 6th Annual Cleanup along with K & K Greenhouse (Franklin) & Podzka Landscaping (Medway) as they revitalize Choate Park for the summer. We will be picking up trash, cleaning garden beds, splitting perennials, mulching, washing toys. We will also be cleaning up the wet lands in and around the park – removing debris, trash & toys from the waters. There are also various painting projects that will be available: painting the green building, Choate Park sign, ladies & men’s room stenciling (weather permitting). Medway girl scouts (daisy – girl scout) will receive a FOCP badge/earth day badge for their efforts (sign in is required). There will be crafts for the kids to do. The children will be able to make bugs out of materials that have been received through free cycle (such as egg cartons, paper towel tubes, tissue paper and pipe cleaners). Bring yard tools (wheel barrel, rake, shovel, broom) for yard clean up, painting supplies (brushes, rollers etc), to clean wetlands you will need tall galoshes/wellies for this task. We are looking for donations of yard equipment (wheel barrels, rakes, shovels, etc), perennials to add to our gardens (butterfly, lilly, hosta, sun & shade), trees, also food (breakfast foods: coffee, sugar, cream, juice, fruit, water) to be provided to volunteers during the day. If you are interested donating please email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
