Buy a Brick for someone on your holiday gift list. It can include their name, a favorite quote, or even a special memory. The bricks will be included in a path at Choate Park & are the perfect lasting present for the person who already has everything! The bricks also allow you to support the efforts of the Friends of Choate Park this holiday season. All proceeds from the bricks go towards funding new fencing, playground equipment, shade trees and benches that we add to this historic park. To support the Friends of Choate Park, and check one more person off your gift list, click on the ‘Order a Brick’ button above to get the form. Print it out and send it in. PUMPKIN WALK TONIGHT!!!

Pumpkin Walk is on for Tonight, Sunday October 30th from 6:00-8:00! Drop of jack-o-lanterns with a candle in them at the park under the concession building roof by 5:00 at the absolute latest! Wear your winter boots,dress warmly and bring your flashlights!! Cider, cookies, and pumpkin lights for sale at the concession building! All donations are tax deductible and go right into revitalizing this historic park!

Performing a Summer Jazz Concert at Choate Park, Medway!
Date: FRIDAY, AUGUST 26, 2011
7:00 P.M.
Admission is free!Free parking will be available at the Cassidy Baseball Complex Located off of Winthrop Street.
In the event of rain, the concert will be performed at the
Medway High School Auditorium.

Tonight’s 8 misbehavin’ concert has been cancelled due to the rain in the forecast.

A big shout out to mason Jefferson C. Bailey, O’Brien & Sons Inc., W. Podzka Landscape Co. and K & K Mulch and Loam! Without them the new equipment wouldn’t be in at Choate Park and the grounds and gardens wouldn’t look so great! Thanks to all the volunteers that came out on Earth Day as well to help give back to their community. As Wayne Podzka says “When everyone works together it is amazing what a difference we can make within our community.” Thanks to these big contributors that have given to the park over & over again!!

New Equipment at Choate Park

This week a new swing set with a handicapped accessible swing, 4 person seesaw and spinning toy went in at the park. Please stay outside the caution tape till Saturday afternoon so the cement can dry. Enjoy the new equipment over April vacation next week!

A special thanks to Medway mason Jefferson Bailey for volunteering his time to help us put in the equipment and to O’Brien & Sons for their help with the install!

Easter Egg hunt has been cancelled for 2011/ Earth Day Clean Up still on!

We regret to inform you that the Easter Egg hunt put on by the Friends of Choate Park has been cancelled this year due to a lack of volunteers. We will be hosting our annual Earth Day clean up at the Park on Saturday April 23rd from 9-11 Rain or Shine.

Thanks for people that offered to help at the last minute. Unfortunately we have been advertising for new members for 6 years on our flyers, at our events, on facebook and in the paper and have only seen our numbers decrease. We are a small group that is getting smaller each year. We just do not have the number of people in our group it takes to organize such a labor intensive event anymore. Even with volunteers from the community the day of the event we do not have the number of people in our group to oversee a large number of volunteers.

There is the possibility of another group taking on this event in the future. If you are interested in helping them make this event possible please email us at choatefriends@yahoo.com.
